Christmas Trees are a common but often unnoticed trigger of respiratory issues. Some basic information and a simple plan can reduce your exposure.
- When buying a real tree, look for trees that have grown without pesticides. Be sure to rinse it off and let it dry before bringing it in the house.
- When buying an artificial tree, look for PVC-free trees made from polyethylene. If it is a new tree, be sure to keep it outside for a few days to allow some of the chemicals to dissipate before bringing it in the house.
