Christmas Trees are a common but often unnoticed trigger of respiratory issues. Some basic information and a simple plan can reduce your exposure.

When buying a real tree, look for trees that have grown without pesticides. Be sure to rinse it off and let it dry before bringing it in the house.
When buying an artificial tree, look for PVC-free trees made from polyethylene. If it is a new tree, be sure to keep it outside for a few days to allow some of the chemicals to dissipate before bringing it in the house.
