Control water damage to prevent structural damage, bacterial & mold growth, and the release of harmful chemicals from water damaged materials.

  1. It is critical to first identify and then stop or contain the source of any leaks.
  2. Use a moisture meter to determine the full extent of the water damage and find exactly where in your home the impact is.
  3. For minor leaks the contamination is not typically hazardous and off the shelf cleaning products can be used for restoration.
  4. When allowing small leaks to dry up within 48 hours the risk of structural damage or mold growth is greatly reduced.
  5. Small areas of visible mold growth (less than 3’x3′) on non-porous surfaces like tile can usually be wiped clean using a damp cloth and mild detergent.
