Hayward Score

More healthy days, starting at home.

You know when something about your home feels off.

We built Hayward Score, a free survey about your home, to help you identify what may be behind it and what to fix first.

A family makes breakfast together in a bright kitchen: a mother holds a mug, two children lean over the island, and the father works at the counter

It happened to us. We don’t want it to happen to you.

In 2008, Bill Hayward, his wife and their newborn daughter became sick in their new home. Ten years later, Jeff McConathy built his own family home from the ground up with sustainable materials.

We came to the same conclusion from different directions: how a home is built and cared for shapes the health of the people in it. Hayward Score is the tool we wish every family had.

Common questions

Is the Hayward Score really free?

Yes. Taking the survey and getting your score costs nothing.

How long does it take?

About 10 minutes. You answer questions about your home; there are no sensors and no home visit.

Is this a medical test?

No. It’s a survey about your home, not about your body, and it doesn’t diagnose any condition. If you have health concerns, talk to your doctor.

Who writes your articles?
